There is a Maori creation myth in which the gods gave to humans three baskets containing the knowledge they needed to live on Earth. They hold the knowledge of the natural world (Kete Arounui), the spiritual world (Kete Tuaatea), and our rational world (Kete Tuauri). The knowledge needs to be in balance for us to live harmoniously on Earth.

Inspired by this story, The Basket of Knowledge - Kete Tuaatea features a hand-sanded polycarbonate basket and shroud that houses an energy efficient and long lasting LED spot light. These large scale, functional statement pieces were launched at Milan design week in 2009.
