Fish traps are called hinaki by Maori, though often the name is used specifically for an eel trap. They were made from woven vines, some in amazingly beautiful forms.

The Hinaki Nautral Pendant Light, inspired by hinaki fish traps, is one of David Trubridge's first designs. Hinaki is made from bamboo plywood with a natural finish. Ships flat packed with excellent instructions for self-assembly. The kitset packaging helps minimize impact on the environment. Ships with 6 feet of wire and a canopy. Available in two sizes.
