The Modern Fan Company breaks new ground with an all mouth-blown glass bodied ceiling fan, the Halo. The high quality European glass gives the fan its form, translucency and lighting diffusion. The lower opal glass, which holds the light source, lights the room and casts gentle light into the upper glass making the whole fan glow. With the fluorescent option the fan qualifies for the EPA's Energy Star labeling as a highly efficient, energy conserving design.
The rotor, which sits on the top of the fan, is die-cast aluminum and, along with the other metal components, is finished in textured nickel complemented by opal glass or gloss white with amber glass. The four blades are plywood construction, painted in matte nickel or white and are available with a 42" or 52" blade span. The motor is a high power silicon steel design with 16 poles. These motors are designed for long life and silent running, and are controlled by dual capacitors. The fan speed and the light can be operated by one of several control options. The light source may be specified as either incandescent or fluorescent. Note: Any control ordered with a fan that has been configured with an energy-saving CFL will be supplied in a non-dimming version.
Includes 3" and 9" downrods for 18" or 24" overall height. Optional downrods are available for alternate heights. The Halo fan can accommodate a sloped ceiling up to 33°. For slopes over 33° but under 45°, use the sloped ceiling adapter (sold separately).
